Q. What is SyncNotes?
|
|
A. SyncNotes helps you keep you important snippets of information at
your fingertips, always.
SyncNotes is a system that allows you to easily store, retrieve and even
communicate small pieces of textual information. The SyncNotes System consists
of a desktop software that allows you to put up virtual sticky notes on your
screen, a web based system that synchronizes all notes from your PC(s) and a
WAP based interface for viewing and adding notes when you are on the go.

Q.
Do I need to be always connected to the Internet to use the SyncNotes Client?
|
|
A. No, the SyncNotes Client is completely functional in an offline environment;
however you will not be able to synchronize your notes with your SyncNotes

Note: You need to be connected to the Internet to complete the
first time setup of the SyncNotes Client. This is when the SyncNotes Client
determines and validates your SyncNotes Online account credentials.

Q.
Can I make a Note appear above all my opened windows? How do I do this?
|
|
A. Yes, click on 'Always on top' menu option on the Note. Alternatively you can
press the round button (it looks like a pin) on the top right of the note.

Q.
Can I change the theme / colour of a note? How do I do this?
|
|
A. Yes, the theme / colour of the note can be changed by using the menu on the
note. Select 'Note Colour' and chose the color. The color themes also have
keyboard shortcuts; look them up in the menu.
You can also have a custom theme for your notes. To make your own custom theme,

Q.
How can I make a note transparent? Why is the "Make Transparent" item in the
note menu grayed out?
|
|
A. Any note can be made transparent by selecting "Make Transparent" in the
note's right click menu. This will make the note transparent; you will be able
to see both the text in the note as well as the things under the note. The
amount of transparency can be set in the "Translucency" tab of the Options Box.
To make every note transparent, you can select the "Every note to be
translucent by default" checkbox. This will affect each and every note in
SyncNotes, making each transparent.
Note: "Make Transparent" is a toggle feature, to make a note
opaque again, select "Make Opaque" in the note menu of any note that is
transparent.
If the menu item as well as the Translucency tab in the options dialog is
disabled (grayed out) you are not running an adequate version of Windows.
Transparency features are only supported on Windows 2000 or later.
Note: Transparency effects are resource consuming. You may
experience a slight slowdown when you make many notes transparent if you do not
have a fast video adapter.

A. First, turn off the option "Show Toolbar at startup" in the General Settings

time you start SyncNotes. You can fully use SyncNotes from the system tray icon

Q. Why isn't sound
playing?
|
|
A. SyncNotes can play sounds every time a new note appears or a note is
destroyed. To turn this option on select the "Play Sounds" checkbox in the
General Settings tab of the Options dialog.
Note: You must have a Windows Compatible sound card and
speakers installed to listen to these sounds.
If all of the above is correct and you still cannot hear any sounds, please
check the volume level of your speakers. You can also verify your sound
hardware and speaker volume by playing any sound media file.
Please contact your system administrator if you still cannot hear sounds when
you make a new note.

Q. Why
can’t I put a picture into a Note?
|
|
Q.
Why is there no formatting and rich text support in SyncNotes?
|
|
A. SyncNotes is designed to avail important snippets of information to you
anywhere and anytime. SyncNotes is not targeted at storing of large, rich
content. Moreover, SyncNotes is targeted at making your information available
on as many devices as possible. To achieve this, the content of the notes have
to be kept simple. Hence SyncNotes supports only textual information.
There are plans however, to implement various other content types and custom
note types in the future. If you would really like to see rich notes added as a
feature, feel free to shout it out in the SyncNotes Forums.

Q. How
many notes can I post on my desktop?
|
|
A. You can have up to a maximum of 200 simultaneous notes loaded in memory in
the current version of SyncNotes. If you try to cross this limit you will be
prompted by a message. This limit is enforced to maintain an optimum balance
between speed and resource consumption in SyncNotes Client.

|
Q. Why do I need to archive my
notes?
|
|
A. The system allows only a maximum of 200 active notes both on the SyncNotes
